Admitting Failure

09/04/2019 Reading Time: 1 Minutes

After close to seven months of working on Synotate I am shutting the product down and going back to the drawing board. Admitting defeat is never easy and my decision to shut the product down is a difficult one I have made, but I have come to terms with this failure and have grown to appreciate every step of the journey. The development of Synotate forced me to learn new skills, navigate legal requirements for operating a business and face new challenges. This personal development greatly outweighs the emotional toll of admitting failure and is why I am content with what happened.

I am not certain where I am going to go from here, but I am taking some time away from starting a new project and more time on getting my creative juices flowing. This mindset shift has been positive for my health and has freed up more time to work on my photography, learning new technologies and writing more posts on this site. I’m enjoying my creative focus at the moment and hoping to use this time to come up with new ideas to test. If you would like to stay up to date on my next project, then please sign up for the Synotate newsletter. I have transformed the domain into an idea lab, where I plan on testing products that will hopefully impact your life in a positive way.
